As some of you may, or may not know, I am also a Professional Make Up Artist, (MUA), and it is amazing the amount of times I go out with friends or meet them beforehand to get ready and the amount of stuff they carry; no wonder women have back pains and back issues, before they even hit late thirties!
Clothes, shoes and even accessories I can understand, but what I have never managed to digest is why ladies have ‘Make-Up Bags’ that equate hand-luggage! YOU DO NOT NEED IT!!!
So what do you need in your basic Make-Up Bag, without breaking your bank or your back, but sufficient enough to take you through your day, and leaves you prepared in case you need to head off for a night out too. Well, that is exactly what this blog is going to cover, so ladies, (and gents!), take note.
Firstly, the Make-Up Bag itself. It does not need to be massive, but simply medium-sized and something that can easily glide in and out, as needed, your daily handbag.
Something like this is perfect:
Contents of the Make-Up Bag.
You only need about 6-8 basic items in your bag and perhaps 5-7 brushes and it’s more than enough; you don’t need to carry the same amount of make up as a MUA!
The first item you would be a Concealer. This can be used for covering all those heavy eye bags, spots, and even redness and blemishes. Following this would be your Foundation, these are probably the most top two essential items, so I would just going to a professional store and get your face colour matched up, I see so many people wearing the wrong colour and it makes all the difference. Foundation is the one item you should invest in, as this is your face and your skin, so skimp on the other bits and pieces, but not your Foundation.
Now coming onto your eyes. You can simply invest in a natural tones eye palette and this will give you enough colours to create a great day look, as well as the option of building it up, into a glamorous night look too. A great palette, will have all your earthy and natural tones, as well as a few highlighters and one or two dark tones, for the ever-popular smoky looks.
Something like this is perfect:
Along with these, you will need a Mascara, Eyelash Curler Black/Brown Eye Pencil/Kajol. These items will simply just polish and perfect your look, with a nice clean, crisp finish.
Lips coverage is something that varies from one person to another. Here you will have a few options, dependent on your personal preference. You could simply have just a Clear Lip Balm or Vaseline. If you prefer something a little more on that, go for a Tinted Lip Balm, this will give you all the moisture and protection of a normal Clear Lip Balm, but with a litter shimmer or colour, or both! The next step up to that would be a Lipgloss. Again, same as with the Lip Balm, you have the choice of a clear Lipgloss or a colour/tinted/shimmered Lipgloss. A Lipgloss is between a Lip Balm and a Lipstick. So as I said, it’s a personal choice and your would need to play around, to work out what is right for you.
The last and final item in your Make-Up Bag is a blush. Again, it’s a personal choice of whether you want a natural cover or something with a shimmer or a bold blush. I suggest, same as your Concealer and Foundation, visit a professional Make-Up store and get your look and colour matched up, because something could look perfect in your head, but in reality you may end up looking like a clown!
Now, to bring all this together, you will need a set of good brushes. You don’t need to spend millions, buying a thirty-four piece brush set, but again just need some basic ones. Foundation Brush is optional, as there is nothing wrong with applying your Concealer or Foundation, using your fingers, but it’s good to have one, especially if you are on the move. A Blusher Brush, which can double up as a Powder Brush. For the eyes, ideally you want a Blend/Smudge Brush, an Eye Applicator Brush and maybe a Tip Application, for the corners or highlighting the brows. You can again, double up the two brushes for the eyebrows too, if needed. You could also invest in a Liner Brush, but that’s only if you are planning to create liners with gels or shadows, if you use a liquid line, you don’t need a Liner Brush.
That is it! You now have a Full Make-Up Bag, with everything you could possibly need for either a day or night look!
Good luck with creating your perfect Make-Up Bag, and if you need any help, just ask!
Till the next time,

•• ♥ ◘ -Madhuri Dixit-Nene- ◘ ♥••
Known for her heart-melting smile, setting fire to any stage she dances on and lighting up not only any screens she appears on, but also each viewer’s insides too. From 1984’s Abodh to Aaja Nachle in 2007, Madhuri Dixit-Nene has starred and acted in over sixty-five movies alone, with five Filmfare Awards, four for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress. She holds the record for the highest number of Best Actress nominations at Filmfare, with thirteen. In 2008, she was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India.
Let’s find the innocence of Bubbli, hidden inside the marvel that is Madhuri Dixit-Nene...

Thank You Madhurji...
Over the years, Madhuri has been paired with some of Bollywood’s biggest heartthrobs and each and every time, she not only stole the screens, the attention but with every movie she did, she stole hearts, souls and minds..!
Although Madhuri made her film debut with Abodh, in 1984, she actually received wider public recognition in 1988 with Tezaab, opposite Anil Kapoor. The film was such a massive hit, that it was 1988's highest grossing movie, and got Madhuri her first nomination for the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Madhuri's pelvic thrusts and turns made the ‘Ek-Do-Teen’ number a trending rage, with the style becoming a permanent feature in most Madhuri movies.
A classic romantic movie, with Madhuri and Amir Khan, showing off teen pranks and teen love, taking you back to your own college moments. Their chemistry was on par with perfection, with each and every number taking you back to those moments where you first fell in love. Both Madhuri and Amir oozed flair, panache and finesse in more and more throughout, with each emotion so raw and so real. Certainly one of my all time favourites!
Madhuri, Salam Khan and Sanjay all star in this Bollywood love triangle. Although Madhuri was somewhat limited to the submissive role of the object of desire between two strong leads, her charms, grace and fine performance allow her to sublimely wave through the entire script.
Hum Aapke Hai Kyon: 1994
The biggest hit of 1994 and the 52 week runner, Madhuri and Salam Khan’s Hum Aapke Hai Kyon was one of the biggest hits of 1994, with a trend setting towards non-violent love stories. Again, with some sizzling on-screen chemistry between the pair, Madhuri and Salam suited each other perfectly, with some great numbers that still are heard and seen today.
Sexy Shah Rukh... Magnificent Madhuri: 1993-2002
How could I pick and just cover one movie that starred this breathe-taking Bollywood duet?! Anjaam saw both actors play a vast amount of emotions and go from a positive to an extreme negative character, whilst delivering that charm and grace that is Madhuri. This talented duo had all lovers, everywhere come alive, when we saw the theme that Love Conquers All in Koyla, Dil to Pagal Hai, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam and last but least, Devdas. The awesome-twosome has always set the Bollywood screen blazing alight with their talent, chemistry and extravaganza!
Here’s wishing the only classy, graceful and heart-stopping, Mrs Madhuri Dixit-Nene, a very Happy 45th Birthday! Yet am I to witness some who ages to beautiful. Praying for her years ahead to be filled and showered with great health, wealth and happiness, forever more. May she continue to grace the stages and screens, creating magic, masti and magnetism performances, bringing life and a breath of fresh air to Indian Cinema, once again.
